Assessment skills employment - April 2025 Logo
  • Assessment of skilled employment history

    April 2025
  • The purpose of the assessment of skilled employment history is to determine if your work experience as a psychologist is comparable to the skill level in Australia.

The APS will assess and determine the number of years of skilled work experience you have undertaken (within the past 10 years) that are at the appropriate skill level.

The Department of Home Affairs will then award the applicant points, based on the number of years the APS confirms are at the appropriate skill level.

Your application must establish that employment:

    1. was held for the period of time being claimed and at a minimum of 20 hours per week, and
    2. was at the appropriate skill level of a psychologist in Australia.
